Sweet Victory (and beta-blockers)!

I am happy to say that my fight with my department at school was resolved today (although I anticipate that there will be many others before I finally graduate) in a meeting with the Chair of the entire department, that went smoother than I could have possibly imagined…I admit, I took a beta blocker beforehand.  I woke up with my hands shaking, what can I say?  It was the third time in my life that I’ve taken one, as I actually love the adrenaline rush from speaking in front of a class/crowd…however the adrenaline rush that comes from having had the future of your career up in the air for the past two weeks, and meeting with the person who holds the power to either destroy it or help you out?  Not so much fun.

This should not be necessary again, as this meeting was so unexpectedly positive, that the memories of crying in her office for twenty minutes last October are already starting to fade faster.  All of this means that my deferred papers will not be drawn out all summer, but complete by June 5th, and I will only have to take one course this summer, on Monday afternoons –  I’ve heard from students who have taken the course already that the weekly homework assignments take an hour or less – and I can keep receiving student loans as well as my bi-weekly grant payments without having to “go under the radar”, so to speak…thus, I will be devoting much time to making this blog as awesome as it deserves to be.  *HUGE sigh of relief!!!*

Now…onto those papers…I am going to transfer the site to the new domain this evening.

Thank-you all for your readership and comments that have inspired me to take “Practice of Madness” on as a “real” (according to out neo-liberal “order” ) part-time job.  Cheers!
