I’m working on the first post for a new series called “but could not address”, consisting of letters to friends, you, and myself – they are intended to fill in some gaps regarding my living circumstances that I, albeit unintentionally, have not addressed!
In the meantime, I’ve been thinking about modern poetry by women. I haven’t come across any female poets who have spoken so boldly about “jilling off” since Anne Sexton. However, Tori Amos continues the tradition in lyrics to songs including “Icicle”, “In the Springtime of His Voodoo” and “Cloud on My Tongue”. I was wondering if you know of any other poets, or song lyrics, that dare express things like having fun in (under I suppose!) one’s Pumpkin PJs or having an “angry snatch”. Is Tori the only woman speaking of what 78% of women do, although the number of slang terms for male masturbation at times seem infinite!
That’s my sociological thought for the day…more soon!
