THANK-YOU! Especially after the hating I got from another former student, assuming you saw it beneath the post? LOL The one where I'm accused of being "one of those girls that hates everything"? Interesting (and good in my eyes that some do share my opinion. A lot of NON former students liked it.

Did you end up with the psych issues in the last 10 years?
I know quite a few funky people who did.

Either criminalized for minor offences, or, believe it or not, for protesting, or they got evicted by greedy olympic landlords, or they got GHB'd

the police look the other way on purpose
it's part of the gentrification process
that's why there where people shooting up in the can and a bunch of racist homophobic "first nations" gangsters were able to threaten and torment everyone and drive the nice people out of the park.

They were allowed to do that on purpose
because the nice funky people gradually left the park after being harassed for 10 years.

I know we want to think people weren't shooting up, but now they've moved to victoria park to turn that into junky shit. That's why the grandview park toilet turned into such a filth hole in the last 10 years.
they allowed it to get gross so they could close it and suck a bunch of development money out of the canadians to pay for a bunch of americans and imported construction workers to rebuild it.

If you look at nazi germany and the gentrification of the ghettos of new york you see that before they tore it down and rebuilt they first destabilize the area with violence (gangs) and delayed police/fire response

I like the new grandview park.

The sight of cotton balls doesn't bother me, but the texture of them does. It makes me want to scream and puke and burn all things cotton. I've always likened it to that cringing moment when *your* the one dragging your nails across the chalkboard, feeling the texture vibrate through your finger nails.

I used to have to use tissue for getting my nail polish off, or wait for someone to get the cotton out of pill bottles for me (which I'll still do if someone is readily available) but I can suck it up and bare it now if I feel I'm being ridiculous. For some reason cotton balls are a lot less offensive to the touch when they're wet, that helps. o.O on the flip side, I'm fine with wool until it gets wet.

I actually had to suffer through some pretty relentless teasing about it as a preteen because my friend's sister found out… eventually I decided to steal her thunder by throwing it into the pile of random facts about myself I use to amuse others. For some reason letting go of the shame I felt for fearing something so benign seemed to help me to better control that fear.

I write for you, as an individual, just as much as I write for every individual who happens upon this blog and finds something here of use to them, whether on a more practical level, or just on the level of finding that "I'm not alone out here, after all." Hey! Thanks so much, Dustin…as you probably know from one post or another, "your" compliments make my world because they fulfill my "always has been" dream.
Now, holy FUCK re: the "D". Can I have this professor's e-mail address? I would like to give him some anonymous feedback, of course letting him know that I am NOT a student nor do I speak of any specific student, so he can skip right past any desire to lash out in the form of poor marks or embarrassment in class (I bet the guy likes embarrassing his students in front of a class that will feed his ego and laugh and nod along with him, am I wrong?), but WHO ON BLOODY EARTH TAUGHT HIM HOW TO MARK A PAPER?!? WHAT THE HELL??? That's just incredibly WRONG!!!! From a goddamn "scientific, empirical standpoint". Marking based on one's personal opinions…and that's it? Disagree with me = F? Or maybe "I think [though he would never say "think" but claim to "know"...what a fool!] antidepressants saved my wife's life so they work, and I'm going to bring my 'knowledge' with me in my briefcase like a math professor carries a protractor"?! HOLY NO.!!! SERIOUSLY…if a student gave me a paper that was properly researched and made logical conclusions, on top of being well-written (which is uncommon, when facing a stack, to be kind and you've got it!) that had a thesis stating that George W. Bush was the best president the USA ever saw, I would give it an A+! There may not be a formula to answering an essay question, but there is to marking one!
Wow. Academia blows me away in its absurdity once again. I knew that such opinions were marginalized in psych departments, but I didn't know that this went on. Holy shit.
